Greetings from the North Shore where, this week, we’re talking snow and lots of it. They’re saying we’ve had 100 inches so far and counting. We readily admit that 100 inches is nothing compared to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which gets between 250-350 inches of snow each year, thanks to the lake effect. Here’s a great photo that shows why:
On the other hand, everyone in town just received an email from the City of Grand Marais this week, telling customers that the snow was too deep for city staff to check all the utility meters, and customers’ utility bill calculation may be based on previous usage. The city will adjust any discrepancies when they can take readings again. In April, maybe?
No one knows what March, often our snowiest month, will bring. Meanwhile: snow forts!
Besides enjoying the snow, there’s lots happening indoors this week, too.

I seldom watch videos as they take more time at the computer, but I did watch the Bodil Manz, Danish ceramicist, documentary. Wonderful to see her 4 days in the studio, hear her language, enjoy her finished work. Loved it!
